I've read in a few places that people are having trouble with this. I too had trouble, but after I downloaded alsa-driver-1.0.13rc3, configured it, made it, and installed it, it all just worked. Here is what I typed (as root):
wget ftp://ftp.alsa-project.org/pub/driver/alsa-driver-1.0.13rc3.tar.bz2
bunzip2 alsa-driver-1.0.13rc3.tar.bz2
tar -xvf alsa-driver-1.0.13rc3.tar
cd alsa-driver-1.0.13rc3
./configure
make
make install
If you have the same motherboard, let me know if this does/doesn't work for you. There may be some useful information in this post if you have further difficulty.
